The planning for this trip started about 2 years prior when a fellow Kiss diver, Steve Millard, was visiting us in Vancouver to do some diving. He managed to convince us that our first ever dive trip away from home should be to Scotland on a all Kiss Rebreather charter. Can you believe it? We actually said yes. Although I must admit, I was dreaming about warm blue water, sandy beaches and hot, hot weather, I was looking forward to seeing Scotland and meeting the other Kiss divers. Having only dove in cold water areas with high current, I really had doubts on the type of marine life that I would see. I was accustomed to the abundant life of Canada's west coast and I really didn't think that anything could compare. Boy, was I wrong. After arriving at Sunset House (www.sunsethouse.com), it only took us a few minutes to get our Sport Kisses assembled. Once together, we quickly jumped into the pool to check our buoyancy and then headed for the ocean. It was a strange experience to gear up so quickly. We kept asking ourselves, "What have we forgotten?" Heavy suits, gloves and weight! I remember doing a giant stride into the ocean and marveling at the strange sensation of warmth and wetness as I plunged in. Both Gordon and I just had to stop and grin at each other.
